Down payment assistance — educate, then verify on official sources

Assistance programs exist. Amounts, income limits, and rules change. Start with official MHDC pages and a certified lender — this page will not invent dollar figures, eligibility, or deadlines.

Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) and various city/county/employer/nonprofit programs may help eligible buyers with down payment or closing-cost support. Eligibility is program-specific.

Official MHDC starting points

What to check on those pages (without treating blog summaries as gospel): income and purchase-price limits, first-time definitions, education requirements, and how assistance appears on a Loan Estimate. MoJo does not administer MHDC programs and does not invent eligibility, amounts, or deadlines.

How to use this education

Direct: Blog posts and social ads lag real program changes. If a number is not on an official page or your lender’s written estimate, treat it as rumor.

Next: MHDC & official sources and local DPA resources. MoJo can coordinate timelines once funding is real.

Roles stay clear

MoJo = real estate (KS/MO)

Search, showings, negotiations, inspections, and closing coordination. MoJo is not a lender and does not set rates, approve loans, or run DPA programs.

Lenders = loan review (shop them)

Compare Loan Estimates. Ashley Jones (NMLS 1739681), First State Bank Mortgage, is an optional preferred review partner — not required. No promised rates.
